I made the Market Bag from Fabulous Felted Handknits. Next time, I think I'd make a single strap long enough to go across my torso instead of the two handles, but I think felting the bottom and not the mesh part makes it really strong and stuffable. Check my awesomeness:and a closeup of the mesh:I'm very proud of myself! :)-Erin (Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15945692908431630671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9209463339463020189.post-40916476122667557712007-06-27T19:13:00.000-05:002007-06-27T19:16:22.661-05:00Erin's Bag!Another string bag completed. This one knitted from Erin’s pattern, was fast and fun. It took me Sunday to Sunday to knit, so you should be able to knit this in about 2 hours. The string for this was gifted to me by Nancy. Hemp For Knitting in a DK weight color #102 or chocolate brown for those of us who like a more scientific term for colors. I used almost 2 skeins (almost 300 yds) and some beads Carolhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18187303372682555817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9209463339463020189.post-8051745920373685272007-06-14T16:18:00.001-05:002007-06-14T16:21:36.012-05:00seeing double?Or just making two identical bags. This was fun, the pattern is an old one published quite some time ago. And I didn't figure the yarn requirement. I'll do better with the specs on the bags to come. I did use an obscure kind of cotton from a 3 lb. cone I got online from Maggie's Crochet a few years ago. This started as a progress photo, but I just couldn't stop. Please tell Siggy I finished!Carolhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18187303372682555817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9209463339463020189.post-74145707511976405762007-06-04T17:47:00.000-05:002007-06-04T17:49:04.563-05:00flickr groupI made a flickr group for anyone who would like to add their photos to the pool here.erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02450733468152029514noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9209463339463020189.post-7689265309835279482007-05-24T10:02:00.000-05:002007-05-25T12:42:11.131-05:00The knitted string bagSo sigmund has really been on my case to start the string bags. so last night I cast on the base.I'm using Knitpicks Cotlin in Linen. I'm quite impressed with the yarn actually. I hope they keep it around for a while.erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02450733468152029514noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9209463339463020189.post-45984704500133064422007-04-30T15:46:00.000-05:002007-04-30T15:48:13.611-05:00Hello.I have the basic layout, and I'll have to tweak it along the way.
